Description

In spite of the important progress of Euclidean lattice gauge theory, a basic understanding of the mechanism of color confinement and its relation to chiral symmetry breaking in QCD has remained an unsolved problem. After briefly presenting the paradigmatic 't Hooft large $N_C$ QCD (1 + 1) model  in the light front, I will discuss in this seminar how both aspects, chiral symmetry and longitudinal color confinement, can be understood within the framework of holographic light-front QCD as different manifestations of the same underlying longitudinal dynamics, while maintaining the recent developments based on superconformal quantum mechanics in light-front quantization and its holographic embedding on a higher dimensional gravity theory. This talk is based on 2103.10950 [hep-ph].
