In 2018, the Jefferson Lab Angular Momentum (JAM) Collaboration performed the first global QCD analysis of pion parton distribution functions (PDFs) using the Drell-Yan (DY) and leading neutron (LN) electroproduction data to constrain both the high and low-x distributions. Because the large-x dependence of the DY cross section is potentially sensitive to higher order corrections, in a subsequent work, we extracted pion PDFs by systematically applying various threshold resummation prescriptions on the DY hard coefficients. Parametrizing the valence quark distribution at large x as (1-x)^beta_eff, we found possible solutions for 1 < beta_eff < 2 with a preference for the linear behavior using the ``double Mellin’’ approach, which is the most modern. Further investigating PDF shapes, we included constraints from lattice QCD data using the short distance factorization approach, which corroborated the beta_eff ~ 1 result. Further extensions of the global analysis are considered.
