Competing Magnetism in $\mbox{Sr}_2\mbox{RuO}_4$

Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ is a famous unconventional superconductor, where the nature of the order parameter is still under active debates after almost thirty years of its first finding. While the system is not magnetically ordered, the involved magnetic fluctuations, which act as a pairing glue, are very unusual and offer crucial insight. In this talk, employing first-principles approaches, I will discuss the various magnetisms involved in the Sr$_2$RuO$_4$. The studies are compared with the related experimental findings. If time allows, I will further discuss possible mimicking of the material properties of the Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ employing heterostructure engineering.
