Description

Our universe is made of tiny things such as atoms, nuclei and quarks. Although human sensorial system is not suited to observe these basic ingredients of the universe rendering them invisible, the history of science is filled with ingenious ideas to make them visible. The observation of scattering processes is one of the main tools to probe subatomic world. In this presentation, the basic concept of observing things with scattering experiments will be discussed with its application to subatomic physics, focusing mainly on nuclear physics.
