The International Linear Collider (ILC) is next generation electron-positron accelerator for particle physics experiment. High energy particle collision is one of the major way to explore the world of elementary particles. In the past decades many collider experiments have been carried out with circular shape synchrotrons with accelerated particle energies of GeV-TeV. However to make a step beyond this energy level several difficulties will appear. The ILC is a powerful project to perform e+e- colliding experiments beyond the TeV energy region solving known difficulties. In this colloquium I will introduce overview of the ILC project and its background in an easy way for undergraduate students.
