Description

We analyze the classical motion of a charged particle on a hyperboloid and a sphere with a constant magnetic field. The hyperboloid which is a 2 dimensional smooth manifold with a constant negative curvature, is embedded in the 2+1 dimensional Minkowskian space. Similarly, the sphere which has a constant positive curvature, is embedded in the 3 dimensional Euclidean space. Using the canonical quantization method and representations of algebra, we derived equations which describe the quantum states of a charged particle on these manifolds. We used the algebra of ISO(2,1) for the hyperboloid, and the algebra of ISO(3) for the sphere, respectively.
