The NEXT experiment: a “Neutrino Experiment in a Xenon TPC”

One of the newest entries in the search for neutrino-less double-beta decay (02) is the NEXT experiment, centered at IFIC in Valencia, Spain, and presently being installed in the Canfranc tunnel under the Pyrenees mountains between Spain and France. I will discuss the science and technology of this experiment with a view to scalability to ton-masses of Xenon-136.
