The studies of low-lying excited states, pygmy and giant resonances performed at the TU-Darmstadt will be presented. Part of experimental data are obtained at the super-conductive accelerator of electrons S-DALINAC in (e,e') and (gamma, gamma') reactions. Another sets of data are from (p,p') and (alpha, alpha') scattering experiments performed at RCNP (Osaka), iThemba labs (S. Africa) and KVI (Groningen). Theoretical interpretation of the data within the quasiparticle-phonon model will be offered.
